The World’s Best Workplaces 2019 were announced on Wednesday October 2^nd, having a strong Irish performance, with 11 of the 25 listed organisations having operations based in Ireland. More than 8,000 organisations participated in the survey process, representing the voices of 12 million employees worldwide.

Ireland’s reputation as an attractive talent base for multinational organisations is further highlighted by the fact that eight of the top ten slots on the prestigious list have an Irish presence, with Cisco, Salesforce, DHL, and Mars all appearing in the top five.

Irish organisations are outperforming the global benchmark in a number of key areas, including Flexibility (indicated by the statement “I am able to take time off when I think it is necessary”) and High Trust Leadership (captured by “People here are given a lot of responsibility”). These areas show that the top performing workplaces are those have confidence in their hiring practices, and can trust their people to do their role well without getting in their way.

To be eligible for the World's Best Workplaces list, a company must be named to 5 or more national Best Workplace lists within Great Place to Work’s current 58 countries, have 5,000 employees or more worldwide, and at least 40% of the company's workforce (or 5,000 employees) must be based outside of the home country. Companies also receive additional credit for their efforts to successfully create an excellent workplace culture in their worldwide locations.
